Happy Thanksgiving

We couldn't have asked for better weather to celebrate the long weekend and Thanksgiving. On Saturday we decided to take the kids to Lyn Canyon to go hiking. It's great place to get the experience of the Capilano Suspension Bridge, but it's free and not as long. On our first time there, we took the kids over the bridge and down to the water to play. This time we took them over the bridge and then found a trail that goes to Rice Lake in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. We had a picnic lunch there and watch the people trying to fish. The kids did really well. Maddy walked the whole way while Ethan had a few shoulder rides and and many snacks to keep him going.

On Sunday we stayed home and had a roasted chicken dinner with turkey side dishes. My parents came over to celebrate Thanksgiving with us and even then, I couldn't imagine needing a whole turkey. This year Maddy learned about Thanksgiving in school, so we went around the table to say what we were all thankful for before eating. Maddy and Ethan both said they were thankful for food. Haha, hopefully they are thankful for a lot more and it was just the food on the table that they were thinking of!

The weather on Monday was still gorgeous, so after a few chores and a nap we took the kids' bikes to Central Park in the afternoon. We've live so close to Central Park for 2 years now and I can't believe that this was the first time we'd really explored the park. The kids had a fun time biking from playground to playground and seeing all the different lakes in the park. It still isn't a place I go on my own with the kids but we will definitely go there again as a family!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We definitely had a lot to be thankful for this year.
