DIDO at Aldor Acres

I can't remember the exact year we started 'DIDO' (Dine In, Dine Out), but the concept of DIDO has been around for our 4 four families since before any of us had kids. The idea was that every other month, one of the couples had the task of planning something for the whole group to do. From the name you can tell that it used to surround the idea of food. We'd go to cool new restaurants or head out for Dim Sum. It was great because it made sure we remembered to reconnect with each other even if our daily lives got busy. It's hilarious to think that we used to believe our daily lives were so busy we'd forget to meet up with each other. Anyway the group now involves 6 kids from the Blommestein, Van Dop, Lefebvre and Low families so the DIDO are becoming more about the kids.

Today, went to the Pumpkin Patch for our October DIDO. It started out a bit risky as we didn't know what the weather was going to be like. We literally woke at 8am, looked out the window and then called each other to see if we would take the risk to head out to Abbotsford. At the time it wasn't raining so we decided to go for it. While driving past the Coquitlam IKEA, it was a down pour. Since we couldn't reach everyone on the phones right away, we had no choice but the keep driving. I'm so glad we did, because by the time we did get a hold of everyone again, the rain had stopped and by the time we got to Aldor Acres, it was even a little sunny! Hooray!!

Maddy and Josh were having a great time posing together. The others...not so much!
I always thought this bull was Big Bob, but  Brian pointed out that Big Bob died in 2005, so I have no idea who this was. Still big though!
Ethan was totally intrigued by the piglets.

If you can carry it, you can take it. Thank goodness they still can't carry much!

 Hayride with Papa.

Everybody's happy and more up for posing after lunch!

After being out in the cold we decided to head to a Tim Horton's I saw on the way to the farm for a hot chocolate. Unfortunately, it was only a 'drive-through' sized Timmie's so we went to the next closest thing. We had to laugh that our DIDOs have turned into eating at McDonald's.
 The kids table.

This picture cracks me up because of the look of concentration on Ethan's face!!
