Revelstoke

Seeing the scary IKEA bee keeper guy staring at me every time I looked at this blog was great motivation to post a new blog. I also wanted to get all the photos from our recent trip to Revelstoke up for the kids to see.

We had a great week in Revelstoke. In my last blog about going to Revelstoke I talked about how crazy it was driving with Ethan and how much he needed to be entertained. Things were so different this time. Way less crying as he could tell us that he wanted to get out, with which we'd just promptly tell him that we couldn't let him out! It's crazy but it worked.

Opa had just recently finished the sand box for the kids and it was put to great use. The kids were in heaven playing with the water tubs and sandbox. Mom and I had a great time relaxing out back and watching the kids play. During the week Josh and dad were kept pretty busy with some modifications Josh wanted to get done on the Westy, so mom and I took the kids to parks, swimming and even the train museum in town. Things were so much easier this time, the kids transitioned to new beds without skipping a beat and with only one nap to worry about, we had a lot more time to venture out and do things.

I'm too lazy to write a full blog, but I just want to jot down a few memories for us to remember:
  • We got up close and personal to many critters including a salamander, frogs, tadpoles, baby snake and a weird beetle thing. Maddy was very adventurous and held both the frog and snake!
  • Ethan's name for Opa and Oma became "Pipaw" and "Mimaw". Too cute. He still calls out "Pipaw, Pipaw" every time he sees a dark color van.
  • Watching "Pipaw" mow the lawn with his new ride-on mower. It was like watching a one man parade as the kids waved and laughed every time Opa passed by.
  • Taking Ethan to the construction site so that he could see the excavators up close. He loved it!
  • Ethan playing with the neighbour's dog and telling it to "Chaw, chaw!" (Sit in chinese).
  • Maddy running with a marshmellow in her hand, straight up in the air, as she tried to lure the dog out of the garden.

Thanks Pipaw and Mimaw for a great week. We had an awesome time! XOXO
