here are some pictures of our christmas celebrations and trip to revelstoke.
a shot with the cousins. the harpers made the trip down this year and we had a full house for xmas dinner.
sistas!
skyping the lee-young's in ottawa
on boxing day we made our trip up to revelstoke. the kids were so excited to go that we woke at 6am and arrived in revelstoke by 1pm.
we had a lovely christmas with the blommesteins minus auntie lyn and uncle aaron.
the kids put on a christmas play, we opened presents and played our christmas game.
so happy to be at oma and opa's
oma arranged for us to all go on a sleigh ride. the strength of those two horses was absolutely amazing.
we went skiing and the kids picked up from where we left off last year quite well
we celebrated new years with fireworks on the ski hill followed by snack back at home, the kids even stayed awake all the way until 12am
at one point ethan did clutch his face and said, "my eyes are burning!". but we rang in the new year and went straight to bed.
the next day we went to halcyon hot springs for a day trip. then this happened....
i slipped on the tiles and fell. the xrays didnt show a fracture but they don't always show for a week or so. the doctor casted it because the suspected bone is close to the thumb and if there is in fact a fracture, it can be difficult to heal. so now i'm anxiously waiting to find out if i have to have the cast on for longer or if i can get it removed. fingers crossed!
you know how they say bad things happen in threes? well it did for us that day. (the first day of 2015 to boot!) first, on the drive to the hot spring we got our first chip in the windsheild of the new car. then the arm thing. the third thing happened and i didn't even know it until 2 days later. i'd taken off my necklace at the pool and put it in the locker. well in the craziness of my fall and just trying to get dressed with the pain, i forgot all about it. i lost my favourite necklace :(
here's hoping the rest of 2015 will be better than the first day. happy new year everyone. we hope you had a restful, fun-filled holiday season.
(one handed typing: i haven't done that since the early days with holding a baby and trying to be on the computer at the same time.)
******The cast came off the following week. I had it x-rayed again and there was no fracture. Thank goodness, I was so done with the whole cast thing after just one week! Couldn't imagine what 9-12 weeks would have been like. I learned a greater appreciation for my thumbs this week.******
