Gingerbread

It took most of the day, but in the end it was worth the effort. Maddy and I made the dough during school time and let it chill in the fridge until after lunch. Ethan ate his lunch in record time because he was so excited to make the cookies. Once we cut a few he ask, "Can me eat dem now?" During the dough rolling process was when I started to question my desire to make the cookies. Having the kids around dramatically slowed the entire process down. This is to be expected and it would be fine except the dough was beginning to get too warm again and it started to stick. It became a mad dash of rolling, flouring and letting them 'think' they were helping with cutting out the gingerbread men. By the time the cookies were in the oven I needed a break so we stopped to do some gingerbread men drawing. The decorating was by far the best part. Very civilized, very calm. The kids did really well and the cookies are not too shabby.
