Christmas Day

The kids were still recovering from being sick so they thankfully gave us a nice sleep in on Christmas morning. They were amazed that Santa had come the night before and delighted to see that he and the reindeer enjoyed the snacks we left. Santa did not disappoint and brought both new clothes for Taryn and a bed for Woa Woa.

In the afternoon, my family came over to celebrate. Maddy has been waiting a long time to play dolls with her cousins. The girls quickly went to Maddy's room and dumped out all their clothes. It was a clothes changing frenzy and Maddy was in doll heaven. We opened presents before dinner and the best part was all the hugs going round. We chose to just do presents for the kids and so they took turns opening, hugging and then playing.

Gotta love those kinds of reactions!

Dinner was so yummy. Turkey and the fixins' along with a traditional Lee-Young rice. Ethan was still under the weather so he wasn't his usual ravenous self. I did see him take a few bites on his own, so that must have been a sign that the food was yummy.

Fun times at the kids table

I think it was Shauna who started the Christmas cracker tradition. Here it is, still going strong. Yes, we look like dorks.

After dinner we played a game instead of exchanging adult gifts. The kids played too by rolling the dice and choosing the gifts. They did very well and no one cried when they didn't get t to keep their stash of presents.

One of my favourite parts of the evening was at the end of the game when everyone was opening the gifts. I have it on video and hope to have it uploaded soon. It's not all that interesting, I just wanted to share it was Shauna and Calvin so that they could be part of the fun.
