After almost a month of getting to know Maddy, we decided it was time to go on our first family trip. Nothing exotic or too ambitious, just a short 3 day trip to the States. We left on Wednesday and slowly made our way south. With feedings every 3 hours or so we didn't make it any further than Seattle. With no particular agenda we drove between feedings and tried to get some shopping done. Seems like it would be pretty easy except you'd be surprised how long it takes to get from one side of the mall back to the other with a hungry baby. I've really come to appreciate malls that have great change rooms complete with nursing areas. Hopefully, the day will come when I can feed Maddy without flashing everyone in the general area. Until then, we'll have to continue trekking back across the mall every time. We became experts at feeding in the car since most malls don't have nursing areas. Josh even mastered changing a diaper in the front seat when the thought of taking everything to the washroom for a quick change was too tiring.
The trip was a great learning experience for us and we still managed to take advantage of the strong Canadian dollar and got some good deals.

Welcome back home. I am happy to know that everything went so well. I still remeber the days when we went camping with all the kids. Evelyn ( 6 weeks old) in the back of a van with Papa and I. And the boys in a tent. It was so dark in the night that I used a flash light to make sure evelyn got what she needed. Maddy is so beautiful. Love you guys lots
Oh the memories - feeding and diaper changes in the car. Come to think of it, we STILL do diaper changes in the car! Glad you guys had a good trip and got some shopping done. Nice top, Mon!
