We pulled in late the first day, so it was off to bed. The following day, Josh went off to work and the kids an I had a busy day. We went to the Seattle Science Center, The Museum of Flight, shopping at Bellevue Square and swimming at the hotel pool. This was our only really full day, so we had to pack a lot into it. The kids were great and were extra quiet as Mama tried to navigate around those US highways. By the time I put them to bed, it was 'lights out' fairly quickly.
Even staying at the hotel was an adventure for the kids. Our room had a great view of the construction site next door.
Usually that's a bad thing, but it kept them busy for a while, so I'm not complaining.
Outside of the Space Center. Such sibling love on this trip.
The next day we drove to Everett to the Imagine, Children's Museum. We'd been to this museum back when Maddy was 2.5 and Ethan was about 9 months. This museum is probably geared for the preschool set, but Maddy still seemed to have fun and we stayed for most of the morning. We made a trip to the Premium Outlets in Tulallip in the early afternoon for Mama and then back to Bellevue to pick Josh up. That evening before heading home, we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Ethan ordered his favourite mac and cheese. By the time it arrived, he didn't want anything to do with it. He just seemed 'off'. After a while it dawned on us that he was experiencing his usual "end of vacation blues". Poor kid, couldn't hold it in any longer and cried his heart out. I guess this trip was THAT good!
We got home from Bellevue late Friday evening and on Monday morning the kids and I packed our bags again to head to Whistler! Yay, another trip! It was too bad that Josh needed to work and couldn't join us. My sister Joanne invited us to stay with them while they enjoyed some skiing time. I didn't have any plans to go skiing by myself with the kids (and technically we were back to homeschooling), but we went to enjoy some family time with the Tulks and my parents. We schooled in the mornings while the Tulks were skiing and the kids had fun playing and hot tubbing in the afternoon. We did make it out to the village one afternoon, but early morning snow on our last day cut my plans for another trip into the village short. Another quick trip, but still enough fun for me to find Ethan crying quietly by himself on the morning we were packing to leave. It was THAT good!
Gong Gong came into the village with us.
