8 months old and 2.5 years
Things are good. No, they're great! As mother's day is this weekend, I can't help but think that I'm the luckiest mother in the world. Both Maddy and Ethan are doing really well and with the nice weather just around the corner, I can't wait for what's to come.
Ethan is definitely a boy on the move now. It's so fun to watch him see something he wants and then commando crawl with such determination to get it. He especially loves remotes, wires and pictures frames so we cannot leave him unsupervised anymore. The best part of his new found mobility is that he can interact with Maddy now. Watching the two of them play is awesome. Ethan LOVES his Jeh-Jeh and all she has to do is look at him and he'll give the biggest grin. He loves to watch her and I bet he can't wait to get up and really play with her too. I can't say that there haven't been a few "accidents" from Maddy, but for the most part she is pretty good.
I look at pictures of Maddy just after Ethan was born and I cannot believe how much she has changed since then. The biggest difference is that she is now potty trained all day, except for bedtime at night. YAY! I can't say how nice it is to just have one in diapers again. Maddy will be going to preschool on Mondays and Wednesday starting in September. I've been trying to get her ready for this by talking a lot about it. I told her she'd go there by herself to play and then I will come to pick her up with Ethan and take her home for lunch. She said, "Mama, I'll just see. I'll just see." She was trying to tell me that she'll go and see if Ethan and I can go too. Definitely have to savour these moments when she still wants me to be there. They'll be gone before I know it :(
I had to post these pictures. The expression on Ethan's face says it all.

Happy Mother's day to all the moms out there and especially my own and Josh's. Have a great weekend, the weather is going to be nice and we plan to take full advantage of it.

I've never had a problem with my age before. In fact I used to find it annoying when people thought I was way younger than I looked. Being asked for ID at the liquor store when I was 27 was a bit weird, but they have the card everyone right? In the last couple of years things like that haven't happened AT ALL. I went to the liquor store to get some wine and they didn't ask for a thing except for my money. I must be getting older, or at least looking it. :) I don't mind it actually, (the getting older part) but something happened today that made me realize perhaps I do enjoy being considered 'young' still.
I took Maddy to the park after dinner last night. It was great to just have some 'Mommy and Maddy' time. We were playing and there were 3 other kids there. They had a dog that Maddy was really drawn to, so we started talking to the kids. Later on we were climbing the playground and the boy said, "Get your sister to climb up this way." HUH?!?!
I was telling Josh the story later on in the evening and he said "Come on, you must've loved that." Are you kidding? I'll take whatever I can get these days, even if it comes from a boy who couldn't have been more than 8 years old! :) Hee hee.
