We're back!!

Wow! It's been a long time since our last post. We've had so many changes and fun things going on, but we've been without cable, internet and phone since June 27th! It was really tough at first being without these things (especially internet), but it's amazing how much you can get done without them!

The Move
Everything went really well and all my sleepless nights the week before were wasted. A big, big thank you to Josh's mom and dad for coming down from Revelstoke to help out. We could not have gotten everything done with you. Also a big thank you to Josh who worked doubly hard for the both of us, since I couldn't do too much. The house needed some TLC but now that we are officially a month into the new place, it feels like we've been here for a long time. It's really nice to have the entire house to ourselves and having things like the yard and garage are real bonuses. It's the first time we've had to do things like the lawn and garbage, so it's nice training for when we do decide to buy a place of our own. That'll come in it's own time, for now this place is so "young children" friendly that it suites us perfectly.

The Second Annual Blommestein Camping Trip
A week following our move we left for Deception Pass in Washington for a camping trip with the Blommestein clan. It wouldn't be a true Blommestein camping trip without the rain and sure enough the weather turned for the worse as we headed over the border! Luckily it wasn't AS wet as last year, but it did make playing on the beach a little less fun for Maddy. We met Joe and Maria there and the night before, Kim and Kaes came down from Revelstoke. It was awesome to see Maddy and Kaes play this year. Last year she was just a little bundle we kept wrapped up and basically she sat on anyone's lap. This year Maddy had a great time running around, playing with rocks and sticks. Kaes was so patient with her and constantly inviting her to play Spiderman. Here are some pics from the week:

This is how Blommesteins head to the beach on camping trips!

"I love the beach!"

After a run down the beach, Oma did manage to get the kite in the air. Thanks Oma!!

This year Maddy was able to stay up late enough to see the campfire

The sun always comes out on our last day!

Danika's First Birthday
Two days after we returned from the camping trip we celebrated Danika's first birthday with Louanne, Patrick and their friends and family. The year has gone by so quickly, I still remember going to see Danika for the first time. Now she is almost walking and so full of smiles. The party was held at Maplewood Farms and the kids got to go around and feed the animals on the farm, ride the pony and eat yummy cupcakes. What more could you ask for? Happy birthday Danika, we hope you had an awesome first birthday!

Swimming Lessons
We took Maddy to swimming lessons when she was six months old and to public swims a few times in between, but she now goes to lessons at Aquaventures in Vancouver. It is a really great place to take lessons, the water is super warm so the kids (and parents) are comfortable. Maddy LOVES the lessons. When we pull into the parking lot, she yells "We're here!" and claps. They have a really great program and Maddy is already jumping in the water and going under with no problems at all. In fact we took her to a public swim the other day and we had to stop her from jumping in the pool before Josh was there to catch her.

It's so fun to see that huge smile on her face when she's in the pool.

The Annual Radical Picnic
It was hard to believe that it was time for the Radical Picnic again. The summer has really flown by. The picnic was held at Prospect Point in Stanley park and this year was really great because it was so kid friendly. They even had Bobs and Lolo come to perform and the kids loved it. There sure are a lot of young kids at Radical now and judging by all the bellies, even more to come! Unfortunately we totally forgot to bring our camera so we don't have any pics to share.

A "Peanut" Update
I feel terrible because I hardly have any pics of my growing belly from this pregnancy. Most people will say that I'm definitely bigger this time around, so you can probably guess why I'm not that eager to jump in front of cameras lately!! Just kidding. We've just had so many things going on that time has really slipped by. During the hectic moving days, I went to take the glucose test. Well not having regular meals and just grabbing things on the go, it wasn't too much of a shock when I didn't pass it. The yucky part was having to do the 3 hour test the following week. Fasting for 12 hours and pregnancy are not fun. Luckily, I passed the second test and don't have to worry about gestational diabetes. Since the move, and for a little while before, I've been having real pains in my hip and back. I remember having the same kind of pain in the same place with Maddy, but it came closer to the end of the pregnancy. The midwives say that things like these are often a pattern and you tend to feel them earlier with subsequent pregnancies. Last week I went to see a chiropractor because the home remedies were not enough. I've been feeling a little bit better and look forward to more relief with even more sessions. Other than that, the pregnancy is going smoothly. The nausea has been fine for a while now and other than fatigue, it's been good. I'm now 31 weeks and cannot believe that "Peanut" will be with us before we know it. We can't wait until you come, but for now just hang out a bit longer!
